Scouting the Red Hawks
The Red Hawks are 7-12 (.368) on the season and have lost five games in-a-row. Head Coach Ryan Shelton is in his 11th season leading the IU-Northwest women's basketball team. Last season, they posted their program's best record at 25-7 which earned them a bid to play in the NAIA Tournament. The Red Hawks returned four seniors, four juniors, six sophomores and added four freshmen to their 2017-18 roster. Offensively, the team has averaged 66.8 PPG and have shot the ball 39.8% from the field. They are led by junior #32 Choe Salman who averages 15.0 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 2.0 assists per game. Salman holds a 43.1 FG% and 41.5 FG% from three-point land. On the glass, #33 Alexis Blake averages 8.1 RPG per game. Defensively, #21 Gina Rubino has tallied 24 steals on the season while the team gives up on average 71.2 PPG.
