    DANVILLE, Ind. - Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer coach Craig Hendry and women’s track & field head coach Zach Whitkanack announced the addition of Alicia Lombardo to the 2019-20 incoming recruiting class. Lombardo signed her National Letter-of-Intent to play soccer and run track and field for The Woods. She will be a dual-threat student-athlete on the soccer field and on the track for the Pomeroys.

    NORTH VERNON, Ind. - Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's cross country and track & field head coach Zach Whitkanack announced the addition of Patricia Henney to the 2019-20 incoming recruiting class. Henney signed her National Letter-of-Intent to run cross country and track and field for The Woods. She will make an immediate impact on both athletic programs as a true freshman.
  • Western Equestrian Takes Fourth Place at IHSA Semi-Finals; Gingerich Qualifies for Nationals

    LOGAN, Utah - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Western Equestrian team had a great weekend at the Semi-Finals Championships of the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA). SMWC finished Fourth Place just a few points behind the Third and Second Place finishers. Kindra Gingerich took First Place in Team Reining and Fourth Place in Individual Reining! Gingerich will head to IHSA Nationals on May 2, located in Syracuse, New York!

    MISHAWAKA, Ind. - Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College woman’s track & field head coach Zach Whitkanack announced the addition of Dei’ Jana Smith to the 2019-20 incoming recruiting class. Smith signed her National Letter-of-Intent to run track and field for The Woods. She will add speed and depth to the track for the Pomeroys.
  • SMWC Softball Concludes Spring Training; Pomeroys Defeated By LTU & CUAA

    LEGENDS Way, Fla. -  Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College softball was back in action today for a doubleheader against Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) teams. The Pomeroys faced Lawrence Technological University (15-1) in Game One. Despite the good effort, the Pomeroys offense could not get it done. In Game Two, SMWC and Concordia University-Ann Arbor duked it out in a dog fight. CUAA edged the Pomeroys in a 10-9 win but SMWC had an impressive rally to give them the opportunity to win. The SMWC coaching staff and student-athletes want to thank all the families and friends who traveled to Florida to support them, it was an incredible environment.

    LEGENDS Way, Fla. -  Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College softball was back in action today for a three-game stretch. The Pomeroys were victorious in Game One against Missouri Baptist University 5-1. Then the Pomeroys face the College of Saint Mary in a doubleheader in which they were defeated 11-7 in Game Two while The Woods got their payback in Game Three winning 3-2 against CSM. SMWC will be back on the diamond tomorrow for three games beginning with Lourdes University at 11:30 AM.
  • SMWC Softball Suffers A Pair of Losses on Day One of Spring Training

    The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College softball team opened its 2019 season with Spring Training games in Florida. The Pomeroys took on 80+ degree heat and two NAIA opponents. Unfortunately, they lost both contests but there were many positive takeaways on the day. SMWC will have the opportunity to redeem themselves at 9:00 AM tomorrow morning as they take on Missouri Baptist University.
  • Next Stop Utah; Western Equestrian Finishes Season as High Point Team

    MARION, Ind. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Western Equestrian team is heading to Utah State University for Semi-Finals on March 16th and 17th. The Pomeroys finished as High Point Team for the season this past weekend. Senior Kindra Gingerich qualified individually in Open Reining and Open Rail. The Semi-Finals will be located in Wellsville, Utah.
  • Five Women's Basketball Player's Earn USCAA Post Season Honors

    UNIONTOWN, Pa. - The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced it's All-American and National All-Academic Team honors at the 2019 USCAA National Championship Banquet yesterday. SMWC women's basketball was represented well by senior Callan Taylor and Delaney Kendall who earned USCAA All-American Honorable Mention honors. Callan Taylor, Kathryn Kraft, Mara Canada, and Maggie Reimer were named USCAA National All-Academic. Looking at women's basketball history, the program has now a total of 13 student-athletes have received USCAA All-American honors and 22 have made a USCAA National All-Academic Team.

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Hunt Seat Equestrian team finished Reserve High Point Team on Saturday and Sunday at its show. The Pomeroys had an incredible ten riders finish with First Place honors including Taylor Valencia (2x), Kathryn Kraft (2x), Kindra Gingerich (2x), Carly Miller (2x), Boston Campbell, and Emily Hansen. On Saturday, The Woods scored a total of 39 points while on Sunday they recorded 45 points.

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - SMWC women's basketball defeated Danville Area Community College tonight 90-67. The Pomeroys pushed past the Jaguars behind impressive offensive performances by Avalee Jeffers, Maggie Reimer, and Montgomeree Porter. The Woods shot an incredible 44.4 % from the field and forced DACC into committing 30 turnovers.

The Pomeroys snapped a seven-game losing streak and carry momentum heading into their final four contests of the season. Callan Taylor was honored by the athletic department for amassing 1,000 Career Points; she is the 13th player in history to reach this milestone.
