Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind. (Equestrian) -- Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College head western coach Sara Schulz and hunt seat coach Tabatha Taylor are proud to announce the signing of Jessie Ward to the 2017-18 class.
"Both teams are excited about have a dual player," exclaimed Schulz, "It has been a very long time that we have found a rider that would strengthen both teams right away. Her enthusiasm for the team is so uplifting."
Ward joins the Pomeroys out of Owen Valley High School in Spencer, Ind. As a Patriot, Ward lettered in equestrian, volleyball, and track & field.
She was very active at OVHS as she was a member of Future Farmers of America (FFA) and the Youth Board. In the classroom, Ward received academic accolades and was an A/B honor roll student. Her athletic achievements include winning the "Mental Aptitude" award and being named a team captain.
"I am so excited to see where this next step takes me," said Ward in reference to her signing. "
Jessie will be majoring in equine business management and minoring in equine studies at The Woods. She is the daughter of Pam and Mike Ward and has one brother, Jacob Ward.
