Grimes Leads the Way for #PomeroyMG at MSJ Invite

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's golf team finished 12th at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational over the weekend at Aston Oaks Golf Course.

The Pomeroys finished with a 36-hole team score of 668 (342-346) to place 12th of 14 teams. Finishing in the top 25 from the field of 87 was freshman Samuel Grimes with a score of 162 (78-84). Freshman Blake Bennett finished in the top 50, tying for 40th with a card of 167 (83-84).

Freshman Justin Wilson was third on the team with a 36-hole score of 179 (92-87), while Freshman Braxton McIntyre finished with a card of 180 (89-91). Rounding out the Pomeroys' third competition of the season was freshman Jaret Morlan with a 193 (98-95).

The Pomeroys will be back in action in the local community this coming weekend when they play in the Rose-Hulman Invitational across town at Hulman Links on Saturday and Sunday.
