#PomeroyMGOLF in Second Place at Nationals

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (Men's Golf) --  After one day, the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's golf continue to their success at the United State Collegiate Athletic Association National Golf Tournament. The Pomeroys are currently in second place after obliterating the school record with a score of 301.

"Today went as good as we could've expected. We set the school record by several shots," exclaimed Head Coach Abe Nasser. "The team handled the pressure very well. We're looking forward to the competition tomorrow. We're going to battle and we'll do all we can to win." 

The SMWC linksmen played their best round of the season to open the tournament. Colton Kuppler, Ben Myers, and Justin Wilson each finished the day with a score of 75. Nathan Higbie ended the round with a 76 and Braxton McIntyre rounded out the group with 79.

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College has three golfers competing as individuals. Jaret Morlan finished with a 75, Samuel Grimes with 83, and Blake Bennett with 88.

The Pomeroys will continue competition tomorrow at 9 a.m.
