From Coach Abe Nasser
On the team's overall Day 1 performance:
"I'm very proud of the guys for grinding it out. We got off to a rough start and battled back. It was impressive to watch them bring it back. They did a great and we all believe we are capable of playing even better tomorrow."
From Colton Kuppler
On his second-place finish after Day 1:
"I'm happy with how I played besides my putting. If I can putt better tomorrow, there is no reason I cannot make a run for the title."
On his team's success and fellow teammate Ben Myers:
"I'm very happy for Ben and my team. Ben played a very impressive round and so did Nathan and Samuel. We put ourselves in a great position to win tomorrow and I hope we can back up the school record with another great score to bring home the National Championship!"
From Benjamin Myers
On his and the team's success:
"The team played great today, breaking our previous school record by 10 shots. We as a team need to be focused on not letting up and continue to put ourselves in good positions to win this Championship. The putter was hot today and I need to keep that going into the final round."
The Pomeroys will tee-off for Day 2 of the USCAA Men's Golf National Championships tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. If SMWC can secure their current first place spot, this will be their first National Championship in program history.
