SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (Men's soccer) -- Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College head men's cross country coach Zach Whitkanack is proud to announce the signing of Levi Elrod to the 2017-18 signing class.
"It is a very exciting time at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and I am extremely happy that I get the chance to be a part of the team! I can't wait to get out and compete against other schools this fall," exclaimed Elrod.
Levi comes to The Woods as a transfer student-athlete from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind. The Terre Haute South High School product earned his varsity letters on the THSHS boys cross country team and was a member of the bowling team. He helped the Braves to a cross country sectional championship (2014, 2015), a fifth place finish in the cross country state finals (2014), and a 13th place finish in the cross country state finals (2015). Levi excelled in the classroom as well as he graduated with academic honors.
"I am thrilled with the addition of Levi to the new SMWC men's cross country program," stated Whitkanack, "It is great to be able to sign another local runner and Levi had a very successful career at Terre Haute South High School."
Elrod will major in education at The Woods. He is the son of Donald and Judy Elrod and has a sister, Ashley Richie.
