TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (Women's Basketball) – Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College will travel to face in-town rival, the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Fightin' Engineers on Wednesday, Nov. 29. Tipoff at RHIT's Hulbert Arena is set for 7:30 p.m.
The Pomeroys look to snap the five meeting win streak that Rose-Hulman has had. SMWC currently leads the series 14-10 as the 25th meeting approaches. Last year's contest saw the Fightin' Engineers win the contest with a score of 85-58.
SMWC is currently 2-2 on the season with wins over Lincoln Christian University and Blackburn College. Freshman dynamo Maggie Reimer leads the team with 19.5 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game. Another team leader is 1,000 point club member, senior Tara Parmer. Parmer currently averaging 14 points, six rebounds, four steals, and 2.5 steals per game.
Rose-Hulman has a record of 2-3 as they host their home opener against the Pomeroys. The Fightin' Engineers hold the longest active winning streak in NCAA Division III women's basketball with 25 home wins. RHIT is being led by Ally Bromenschenkel as she is averaging 17.4 points and 9 rebounds per game. Chiarra Franklin also helps pilot the team with 10.8 points per game.
