SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (Women's Basketball) – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Pomeroy basketball team closed play during the SMWC Basketball Classic on Saturday afternoon. SMWC went head-to-head with MacMurray College and came out victorious with a score of 108-101.
With the win, the Pomeroys move to 3-5 on the season while MacMurray drops to 3-7.
Four Pomeroys finished the game with double digit point tallies. Regan Hubbard shined on the court with 26 points, five rebounds, and three assists. She was followed by Delaney Kendall with 14 points and four rebounds. Precious Peak finished the day with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds with one block. Sydney Ingram made her presence known with 10 points, five rebounds, four steals, three assists, and one block.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College was 37.2 percent from the field, 24 percent from three point range, and 69.6 percent from the free throw line.
MacMurray was led by Liz Kruemmelbein with a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds. She was followed by Shelby Fink with double-double of 18 points and 11 assists with eight rebounds. Aleysia Mason-Pavia contributed 14 points. Maddie Dalton also finished with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Kaylie Stowe rounded the team out with 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Highlanders finished the day going 42.2 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from the arc, and 64.5 percent from the stripe.
The Pomeroys will hit the road on Saturday, Dec. 18 as they travel to Berea College. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
