This gave SMWC an 84-83 lead and the Pomeroy defense was able to hold on despite Carlow having the last shot of the game.
From Head Coach Robert Belf
On what the biggest success of the night was..
"The biggest thing overall was how hard we played after a seven-hour bus ride. For us to come with that type of intensity after sitting a long ride was huge. We worked hard and got good very shots which put us in the place to be in the lead down the stretch."
On winning two games in-a-row...
"This is just another step in the direction where we want to be. It is nice to win while we improve because it keeps the team positive."
On who stood out in tonight's contest...
"We had a ton of contribution from multiple players tonight. Delaney Jarett stepped up and hit a big 3-PT basket for us in the final minute."
From Callan Taylor
On getting the team clicking so well tonight...
"Our team is really starting to play together. This was a team win and everyone had their role to play. We are all excited and know that this weekend is big since we are playing other USCAA schools. It was a fun game to play in and even better than we could get the win."
From Delaney Kendall
On her 17-point night and the team victory...
"To me, it's not about how many points I score- it's about coming together as one. This was a huge win for us. From the bench to the starting five everyone contributed. We are not done, and this is just the foundation of what this team is capable of."
