TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College golf team finished fourth out of five teams over the weekend at the Rose-Hulman Invitational. The two-day invite took place at Hulman Links on Saturday and Rea Park on Sunday in Terre Haute where the team recorded a season best round and season best two rounds.
The Pomeroys shot a 372 on day one and a 352 on day two. SMWC's score of 352 on day two was a season best, and their final card of 724 was also a season best. The Pomeroys were led by senior Morgan Patterson, who shot a 166 (85-81) and tied for fourth place out of 40 golfers.
Senior Abby Abel and freshman Madison Summerlot both tied for 24th with Abel shooting at 188 (94-94) and Summerlot shooting a 188 (102-86). Abel's rounds of 94 and Summerlot's round of 86 were both season lows. Freshman Karlie Atkinson shot a 189 (91-98) to place tied for 26th, while freshman Katrina Dayhuff shot a 195 (104-91) to place 32nd. Dayhuff's round of 91 was her lowest of the year. Freshman Madison Miller shot a 215 (104-111) to finish 39th.
The Pomeroys will be back in action on September 29th, when they head to Country Oaks golf course in Montgomery, Ind., to play in the Oakland City Invitational.
