MONTGOMERY, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team finished seventh of seven teams on Tuesday at the Oakland City University Invitational.
The conditions were poor on Tuesday, with rain throughout the day. The Pomeroys had one golfer inside the top 10 and one more inside the top 20 in the field of 40. The Pomeroys carded a 400 as a team and were five strokes away from sixth place Vincennes and eight strokes away from fifth place Indiana University Kokomo.
The Pomeroys were led by senior Morgan Patterson, who carded an 87 to tie for sixth. It was the sixth time this season that Patterson has finished in the top 10 at an event. Freshman Karlie Atkinson shot a 97 to tie for 17th, while freshmen Katrina Dayhuff and Madison Summerlot tied for 31st, as each carded a 108.
The Pomeroys will close out their 2015 season with a trip to Legends Golf Course in Franklin, Ind., where they will play in the Franklin Invitational on October 3.
