HARRISON, Ohio (Women's Golf) – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team were on the links over the weekend as they competed in the Mount St. Joseph University Invitational. The Pomeroys finished in fifth place with a total score of 796. The invitational was won by Manchester University with a score of 717.
"While the scores are not where we want them to be, each lady had moments. The two freshman are gaining valuable playing time," said Head Coach Steve Higham, "Shay Ehrlich showed a great deal of promise."
Karlie Atkinson-Fritz led the scoring for the Pomeroys with a two day total of 191. She was followed by Katrina Dayhuff with a score of 194. Shay Ehrlich scored 203 while Madison Summerlot scored 208. Erin Maurice pulled up the rear with a score of 230.
The best overall golfer for the invitational was Emma Schrand with a two day total of 173.
SMWC travels to compete in the Hanover College Invitational in Madison, Ind. at the Sunrise Golf Course.
