SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. -- Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College head women's soccer coach Mike Aycock is proud to announce the signing of Nikoya Collins to the 2017-18 class.
"Nikoya brings excellent club and high school experience to the Pomeroys, and has already proven herself on many levels as a player. Her skills as a defender and her ability to keep her head up and build possession out of the back will make a terrific addition to our team. I see her fitting straight into our defense and making us better. Beyond that, she's just the kind of teammate we all are looking for. We're very proud she has chosen The Woods."
Collins, who will graduate from Franklin Central High School, was an integral part of the Flashes team that went 12-5-2 in the 2016 season, winning through to the 2A Regional final. A winner of the team's Mental Attitude Award, she also participated in Key Club and Friendly Flashes.
"It is such a great opportunity to be able to sign to SMWC. I am very excited to start a new chapter of my life with the school and the team!"
Collins plans to major in Nursing. She is the daughter of Sabrina Hardimon-Collins and Andrew Christie.
