SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. -- Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College head women's soccer coach Mike Aycock is proud to announce the signing of Elizabeth (Izzy) Reel to the 2017-18 class.
"Izzy is a person who is always positive, always working on her game, always leading by example. She brings a great competitive edge with the kind of composure and hard work that a player needs to succeed at the next level. I am confident she will begin contributing right away to our team, possibly as a holding midfielder, where she can combine some of her skills in possessing the ball with her nice tactical sense of defending. Just as importantly, I know she will help us rebuild this team as a team, using all her skills as an ideal teammate and leader. We're very excited she's coming."
Reel, who will graduate from Sullivan High School, won numerous academic and athletic awards. Named Academic All-Conference in 2014, she is also a member of the National Honor Society and participated in Student Council and Beta Club. She was named MVP in 2014, Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016, and All-Conference each year from 2014 to 2016, also playing in All-Star selection matches in those years.
"It's just really great knowing I'll be able to call The Woods my home for the next four years!"
Reel plans to major in Pre-Physical Therapy. She is the daughter of Todd and Theresa Torrance.
