Pomeroys Fall to Lady Oaks

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (Women's Soccer) – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer team (3-6) traveled to Oakland City, Ind. on Wednesday night to face Oakland City University. SMWC played well but was defeated by the Lady Oaks, 6-1.

Ashley Jezik scored the Pomeroys only goal and her third goal of the season at the 48th minute. Corre Matherly stood in the goal for SMWC and snagged 11 saves.

OCU (2-8) was led by Kennedy Folse with three goals scored at the 15, 35, and 75 minute marks. Other Lady Oaks to score were Becca Rutherford (36'), Sylvia Adler (47'), and Lauren Rapp (64'). Rutherford recorded two assists. In the net, Sydney Brooks racked up five saves.

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 7 for the 2017 SMWC Homecoming. Match time is set for 11 a.m.
