#PomeroyWSOC Falls on Homecoming to Illinois Tech

SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (Women's Soccer) --  The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer team took on the Scarlet Hawks of the Illinois Institute of Technology for the 2017 SMWC Homecoming. The Pomeroys fought hard but fell to IIT, 5-1.

With the loss, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College drops to 3-7. Illinois Tech moves to 5-8-1 on the season.

The star for the Pomeroys was Hannah Miller as she scored SMWC's only goal at the 53rd minute.

Corre Matherly was in the goal for SMWC and racked up 10 saves with a complete game.

The Scarlet Hawks were led by Julia Taliana with two goals (31', 63') and Brianna Dane with two (63',74'). Kirsten Robinson contributed one goal (14') as well. Elizabeth Bremer was the goal for IIT and she finished the day with three saves.

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 11 as they take on Holy Cross College. Match time is set for 4 p.m.
