    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer head coach Craig Hendry announced the addition of Abigail Wardell to the 2019-20 incoming recruiting class. Wardell signed her National Letter-of-Intent to play women's soccer for The Woods. She will come into the soccer program and make an immediate impact.

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College track and field head coach Zach Whitkanack and women's soccer head coach Craig Hendry announced the addition of Claire Gillen to the 2019-20 recruiting class. Gillen will compete for both the women's soccer and track & field teams next fall/spring. She signed her National Letter-of-Intent alongside her family, friends, media, and head coaches this past Thursday.

    WYOMING, Michigan - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer team traveled to Wyoming, Michigan to play Grace Christian University in its final game of the season yesterday. The Pomeroys entered the halftime break trailing 1-0. In the second half, SMWC pushed the tempo but could not score a goal on the tough Tigers defense. GCU added one more goal to seal their victory of the Pomeroys 2-0. SMWC finished its season with a record of 1-12-1 and will lose three very special seniors: Jasmine Peoples, Haley Shuler, and Ashleigh Pflum.
  • Women's Soccer Celebrates Senior Day

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer team faced Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology today on its senior day. The Pomeroys lost 5-0, despite the loss, SMWC honored its seniors for all they have done for the women's soccer program. The seniors included Jasmine Peoples, Ashleigh Pflum, and Haley Schuler. These three student-athletes have given their heart and soul to The Woods and it served for a bittersweet day. SMWC will be back on the pitch on Tuesday, October 9th versus Oakland City University. First touch is set for 4:00 p.m. EST.
  • Women's Soccer Edged by the Oaks

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer team played closely with NCAA Division II Oakland City University yesterday afternoon. The Pomeroys and Oaks were both scoreless for the first 86 minutes of the game until OCU scored the go-ahead goal. SMWC could not score in the final minutes and lost 1-0. The Woods will travel to Fontbonne College on Sunday, September 23rd.

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer head coach Craig Hendry announced that the contest against Cincinnati Christian University, on September 29th, has been canceled. Originally, this match was set to be the Pomeroys senior day but now the team will honor its seniors on Wednesday, September 26th against Rose Hulman Institute of Technology.

The Pomeroys were shut out for the second time this season and have lost their sixth game of the year. The Pomeroys will be back on the pitch on Wednesday, September 19th against Oakland City University.

The Blue Angles scored first and did not look back but the SMWC will be back in action on Saturday, September 15th against Earlham College. The first touch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. EST.

    EUREKA, Ill. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer team thrashed the Eureka College Red Devils yesterday afternoon. The Pomeroys posted a 17-0 victory which earned the team its first win of the season. Offensively, The Woods exploded with seven different player's marking the box score with goals while the defense played stoutly and allowed zero shots in the contest. SMWC will have the opportunity to return home on Thursday, September 13th at 5:00 p.m. EST against Kaskaskia College.

    ANDERSON, Ind. - The Woods women's soccer team is still searching for its first win of the season after a 7-0 loss against Anderson University last night. The Pomeroys gave up an early goal after which the game went downhill from that point on. SMWC will have the opportunity to redeem itself this weekend against Holy Cross College.

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - Coming off a 2-1 loss against Kaskaskia College on Friday, the SMWC women's soccer team battled Brescia University this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. EST. Despite leading 1-0 at halftime, the Pomeroys gave up three goals in the second period to lose 3-1. The Woods will look to get the first win of the season on Saturday, September 1st against Lake Forest University.

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. – Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College athletic director Deanna Bradley announced that Olaoluwajide Shogelola aka Coach Jide (ju-day) has been named assistant coach of the men's and women's soccer teams. Jide will work primarily with the Pomeroys goalies.

    SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer head coach Craig Hendry announced the addition of Carra Matherly to the 2018-19 incoming recruiting class. Matherly signed her National Letter-of-Intent to play soccer for the Pomeroys this fall. She joins the team knowing one face all too well, her twin sister Corre Matherly. This will be the first time in over two years that Carra and Corre will play on the field together. You can see the Matherly twins and the women's soccer team in action on Friday, August 24th in their season opener at Kaskaskia College (Centralia, Ill.). Kick-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
