SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (Women's Volleyball) – With three wins under their belts, the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Pomeroy women's volleyball (3-0) looks to continue their winning ways as they head to Hanover College for the Hanover College Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 9. SMWC will play Hanover at 10 a.m. and Franklin College at noon.
The Pomeroys come into the match being led by junior McKenzi Kumpf with 46 kills (5.11/set) followed by junior Monica Mack with 33 (3.67/set). Defensively, freshman Pamela Dorman is making her mark on the court as she leads the team with 38 digs. She is followed by Kumpf and senior Madeline Howes with 22 and 18, respectively. Mack keeps the net clear and makes her presence known as she leads the team with 12 total blocks.
The Panthers are on a win streak with a season and road record of 5-0. Hanover enters the match after a 3-0 win against Spalding University on Tuesday. HC is led by Kristen Goben and Margo Main with 38 kills (2.00/set) each. Monique Huynh leads the team in digs with 90 (4.74/set). Courtney Crawford also guards the net for Hanover and leads the team with 20 total blocks.
Franklin (3-1) comes into the contest after a 3-0 win over Wilmington College on Wednesday. The Grizzlies are led by Kennedy Surface with 35 kills (3.18/set) and Brooke Harvey with 26 (2.60/set). Carrigan Peak runs the defense for FC with 38 digs (3.45/set). Nico Morris is the assist leader with 84 on the season. The net is guarded by Amanda Lelivelt with nine total blocks.
