CROWN POINT, Ind. (Women's Volleyball) -- Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's volleyball head coach Stephen Beeler is proud to announce the signing of Alexis Woodburn to the 2018-19 signing class.
"Alexis will be a great addition to the 2018 roster. She is a talented blocker and has a quick arm. I am looking forward to helping her reach her potential over the next four years," commented Beeler.
Woodburn, a Cedar Lake, Ind. native, will graduate from Crown Point High School in the spring. As a Bulldog, she competed on the volleyball team as a middle blocker. Some of her athletic achievements include Most Improved JV Player (freshman year), was named JV team captain and helped team to 4A State Runner-Up honors (2016, 2017). Off the court, Alexis was a staple on the honor roll and a scholar athlete. Some of her extracurricular activities are Rotary Club, peer tutoring and competing with Ignite Elite Volleyball.
"I am beyond excited to join the team and play at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods for the next four years!" exclaimed Woodburn. "I get along with the whole team and I couldn't be happier to play with such a talented group of players. I am looking forward to going to a small school with a family-like atmosphere where everyone knows your name."
Alexis will be an elementary education major as she attends The Woods. She is the daughter of Don and Julie Woodburn.
