VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Women's Cross Country) -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's cross country team continued their season as they traveled to the United State Collegiate Athletic Association on Wednesday. SMWC will compete with 28 other teams for top USCAA honors. The Pomeroys will hit the course for the 6K run on Friday, Nov. 10 at 9:30 a.m.
This season, the Pomeroys have been led by veteran Cheyenn Wright and a pair of freshmen, Kendyll Schulz and Breanna Barger. These three runners have clocked the fastest times in each regular season meet they have participated in. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College competed in three 6K meets this year. SMWC's best 6k meet was at the Bradley "Pink" Classic as the team finished in fifth place with a score of 125. In that race, Schulz finished with fastest time of 24:17.1, Wright finished with 24:23.7 and Barger cross the finish line with a time of 24:28.9. SMWC will need to keep these runners loose and pace themselves to be in the running for a USCAA championship.
