Catch-up on the Action
The second-year program embarked on its 2019 season with a victory against NAIA foe Brescia University. The Pomeroys jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first half which would later be the final score. SMWC finished the contest holding the Bearcats scoreless, with aggressive defensive play all match long.
Omar Nabilsi, the Marietta, Georgia, mid-fielder scored the Pomeroys first goal of the season. His first collegiate goal struck just over the 3' mark.
John Aguirre, the freshman from Cape Coral, Florida, tallied his first collegiate goals (two) between the 4' and 6' minute marks.
Evan Crowe picked up where he left off from last year's performance as he notched a goal with just over 13' left to play in the first half.
Earlier in the week, the soccer team battled in a scrimmage against DePauw University and Manchester University. Coach Tizaf was satisfied with the teams effort but knows they need to heighten their play across the board.
