Men's Soccer Wins 5th Straight, Defeats MacMurray 2-0

SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. – On a day with scorching temperatures, The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's soccer team (5-0) stayed cool and continued their undefeated season against MacMurray College (1-2), winning 2-0. Both Pomeroy goals were scored by recently named USCAA Player of the Week Omar Abdallah Nabilsi with one assist from Yazen Bakhrebah.


The Highlights 

  • SMWC started taking consistent shots at around the 34th minute until Omar Abdallah Nabili netted the first goal of the game at 38:25.
  • Shots came quickly to start the 2nd period for each team, but both goalies made nice saves
  • MacMurray kept up their offensive attack but were unable to score past the brick wall that Keeper Keaton Krischak put up.
  • Omar Abdallah Nabilsi (assist Yazen Bakhrebah) put the game away with an 86th minute goal.

The men's team is back in action when they host Andrews University on Sunday, September 15th at 4:00 P.M. ET. Women's soccer will also be playing Andrews following the conclusion of the men's contest.
