Pomeroys Pitching Too Much to Handle for the Panthers

GREENVILLE, Ill. -  SMWC Softball defeated Greenville University today in two close contests both decided by one run. The Pomeroys won game one 3-2 and game two 2-1. They are currently on a three-game winning streak with just four games remaining in the regular season. 

Game #25 | vs. Greenville University

Both teams were strong on the rubber Tuesday but SMWC finished victorious as they defeated Greenville University 3-2. Taylor Andrew threw a gem for the Pomeroys as she allowed only two hits, two runs, and struck out four batters. The Woods collected nine hits in the contest. They were led by freshmen Camryn Scott and Hailey Miller who each had multiple hits. Scott led the team going 3-for-4.

Game #26 | vs. Greenville University

Katelynn Kennedy earned the victory in the circle for the Pomeroys as they defeated GU 2-1. Kennedy struck out a whopping 11 batters which marked a season-high. The defense was sure-handed as they did not commit an error. Scott led the team in hits for the second game in-a-row.

Who's On Deck?

The Woods will head to Missouri Baptist University on Thursday, April 23rd. On Sunday, April 28th, SMWC will play a doubleheader against Iowa Wesleyan University and Miami-Hamilton. The Pomeroys will honor their seniors at the conclusion of the contest.
