SEYMOUR, Ind. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team finished fourth out of eight teams at this past weekend's Hanover Invitational. The two-day event took place at Sunrise Golf Course and Shadowood Golf Course.
Day one at Sunrise was cut down to nine holes due to weather and ultimately scores were not counted towards the invite's totals per NCAA rules. On day two, the Pomeroys overcame a rough start to place in the middle of the pack thanks to their play on the back nine.
Out of the 52 individuals on Sunday, three Pomeroys finished in the top 25. Sophomore Chloe Buerster again led SMWC, as she carded an 86 to finish tied for 15th. Freshman Elizabeth Yeazel and sophomore Karlie Atkinson-Fritz finished tied for 23rd with scores of 90. Sophomore Katrina Dayhuff shot a 99 to finish at 40th and fellow sophomore Madison Summerlot shot a 116 to finish tied for 48th.
The Pomeroys will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Oakland City at Hulman Links.
