Women's Soccer Drops Third Straight to Lake Forest 3-1

SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - Following a 3-1 loss to Brescia last Sunday, the SMWC women's soccer team fought Lake Forest College this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. EST. Despite another solid effort from the Pomeroys, they fall 3-1 to Lake Forest. SMWC will look for their first win of the season as they head to Anderson, Ind. on Wednesday, September 5th. 

How It Happened:

  • Jasmine Peoples scored her first goal of the season at the 84-minute mark to give the Pomeroys a garbage time goal at 83:45
  • The Pomeroy's defense gave up three goals at 32:48, 56:57, and 80:05.
  • Both Jasmine Peoples and Makayla Stuck were served yellow cards in the second half.
  • Corre Matherly put on another stellar display at goalkeeper with an impressive penalty kick save in the 53rd minute

What's Next?

SMWC will travel to Anderson, Ind. to play Anderson University on Wednesday, September 5th at 5:30 p.m. EST.

Looking Ahead

The Pomeroys will continue their road trip against Holy Cross and Eureka before coming home to face Kaskaskia College on Thursday, September 13th at 5:00 p.m. EST.
