Women's Soccer Earns Third Shutout Victory of the Season; Best Start Since 2013

SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) women's soccer program has improved to 3-3 (.500) on the season; this is their best start to a season since 2013! The Pomeroys were led by five scorers including Alexis Pflum, Mannah Mace, Melisa Spognardi, Ashley Jezif, and Elizabeth Reel, in the 5-0 shutout over Andrews University.


The Highlights 

By the Numbers
  • SMWC had five player's notch a goal; the second time this season!
  • The Woods defense only allowed three shots on goal; Megan Benefiel had the net secured all 90 minutes
  • This is the Pomeroys third shutout of the season (Eureka College 7-0, MacMurray College 3-0)
  • This was the first time in school history that both the men's and women's team have won at home on the same day
  • Alexis Pflum leads the team with 7 goals on the season
