Volleyball Sweeps IU-Northwest Behind A 15-Kill Performance by Slagle
SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's volleyball team dominated the Indiana University-Northwest Red Hawks this afternoon. The Pomeroys swept the now 22-9 IU-Northwest. In set one, the Pomeroys won convincingly 25-15. In set two, SMWC was forced to display their comeback skills as they won 30-28. In the final set of the match, The Woods was victorious 25-19. SMWC improves to 13-15 on the season and will fight to end the regular season at 15-15 (.500).

  • Gabriella Slagle finished with 15 kills with a .480 hitting %
  • McKenzi Kumpf recorded 12 kills and a .135 hitting %
  • Monica Mack tallied 11 kills with a whopping .600 hitting %
  • Pamela Dorman led both teams with a total of 21 digs
  • Katelyn Cotter led both teams with 38 assists and added 10 digs
  • The Pomeroys recorded six blocks as a team and finishing with a .284 hitting %

Looking Ahead...

The Pomeroys have two regular-season matches left against Fontbonne University and Cincinnati-Clermont (Senior Day). The USCAA will draw the bids to the National Championships on Wednesday, October 31st.
