ELSAH, Ill. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's cross country team ran in the Principia College Cowbell Classic on Saturday in Elsah, Ill. The Pomeroys finished 12th of 13 teams in the 6k race.
Saturday was SMWC's third 6k race of the season and second to last meet of the regular season. Junior Cheyenn Wright led the way with a time of 25:27.32 to finish 39th. Senior Sarah Wichman ran a time of 27:40.69 to place 91st. Freshman Corrissa Proctor ran a time of 28:12.27, while sophomore Teresa Dudley finished with a time of 29:20.75. Rounding out the day for the Pomeroys was freshman Elizabeth Trausch with a time of 32:55.40, which is her personal best 6k time this season.
The Pomeroys will be back in action on Oct. 22 when they head to St. Louis, Mo., to run in the St. Louis College of Pharmacy Fall Classic 5k. It will be the final race of the season for the Pomeroys, as they will then turn their sights on USCAA nationals in Virginia Beach, Va., on Nov. 11.
